Vicente García is a Dominican singer, songwriter, and musician, winner of 5 Latin Grammys, including the "Best New Artist" category in 2017. In his music, Caribbean rhythms coexist with avant-garde and alternative elements that allow him to live in a unique sonic universe. Vicente García has five studio albums: "Melodrama" (2011), the multi-award-winning "A La Mar" (2016), "Candela" (2019), which was nominated twice for the Latin Grammys in 2019 in the categories "Best Contemporary Album / Tropical Fusion" and with his single "Ahí Ahí" as "Record of the Year".
In turn, this album was also nominated for the Grammy Awards in the "Best Tropical Latin Album" category. His subsequent recording work, "Camino al Sol" (2022), was born during the pandemic; it is a fresh and sincere collection of songs recorded live in blocks that make clear the journey he took together with Richard Blair through string instruments and experimentation. Songs that play with simplicity in a light and gentle tone.
On May 30, 2025, he premiered his most recent recording work, "Puñito de Yocahú," described by García himself as a collection of chronicles and landscapes inspired by the unique characteristics that define Quisqueya (Dominican Republic); a journey from the origin seeking to understand the present and alleviate the future. Fusing genres such as Perico Ripiao, Dub, Merengue de Calle, Gospel, and Bachata.
