Takuya Nakamura is a Tokyo-born, New York-based musician, DJ, and composer whose work bridges jazz, electronic music, and experimental sound. After moving to the U.S. in 1990, he studied with legendary jazz theorist George Russell at the New England Conservatory before relocating to New York City in 1994. There, he became a fixture in the city's jazz and jungle scenes, developing a genre-fluid approach that has defined his career.

Nakamura has performed with cult projects including Jojo Mayer's Nerve and CocoRosie, while collaborating with artists such as Quincy Jones, David Byrne, and Arto Lindsay. Drawing on deep jazz foundations and forward-thinking electronic production, he continues to create music that moves freely between tradition and experimentation, establishing him as a distinctive and enduring voice in contemporary music.
