SHĀHERI is a Los Angeles–based Persian psychedelic rock band led by composer, guitarist, and vocalist Jonathan Shaheri. Raised in LA by Iranian immigrant parents, Shaheri grew up listening to pre-revolution Persian artists like Kourosh Yaghmaei and Googoosh alongside California rock and surf music. After working in film and television music, including work alongside Hans Zimmer, he developed SHĀHERI as a meeting point for those influences.

The band's 2025 EP PERSIĀDELICĀ introduced a sound built on Persian psych, funk, and surf guitar. Their debut album ROYĀ—Persian for “dreams”—expands that palette across twelve tracks, incorporating Latin rhythms, cinematic instrumentals, and a collaboration with Peruvian psychedelic cumbia pioneers Los Mirlos on “PERSIĀCUMBIĀ.”

Onstage, SHĀHERI performs as a five-piece, stretching the recordings into more expansive arrangements. The band brings ROYĀ to ZeyZey as part of its 2027 tour, which also includes dates across the US and stops in Latin America and Europe.
